About SignedByPro
Why this site exists
Every AI assistant ends its answers with the same quiet sentence: "AI can make mistakes. Check important info." Billions of people see that disclaimer every day — and almost nobody is told how, or where, to actually do the checking. For casual questions it doesn't matter. For a contract you're about to sign, a tax return you're about to file, or financial statements a bank will rely on, it matters enormously.
SignedByPro is the place where that checking happens: a directory of licensed professionals — attorneys, CPAs, enrolled agents and others — who review AI-generated drafts and sign off on them. AI does the drafting; a human professional, with a license and professional accountability, verifies the result for your situation and your jurisdiction. We call this an AI second opinion.
What we are — and what we are not
SignedByPro is a directory and an information resource. We are not a law firm, an accounting firm, or a provider of professional services, and we do not take a cut of any engagement. Professionals listed here serve clients under their own licenses, their own professional insurance, and their own terms. Our articles are general information for the United States, not advice about your specific situation.
How listings work
- Verified licenses. Every claimed listing is checked against the official state or federal registry before it goes live, and profiles link to the registry so you can verify for yourself.
- Unclaimed profiles. Some early profiles are compiled strictly from a professional's own public marketing — clearly labeled as unclaimed, linking back to them. Professionals can claim them free, correct them, or have them removed with a single email.
- No commissions. We never charge a percentage of any engagement, which means we have no incentive to steer you toward anyone in particular.
Editorial standards
- Primary sources. Where our articles describe rules — bar association opinions like ABA Formal Opinion 512, court sanctions such as Mata v. Avianca, IRS signer responsibility — we write from the primary record, and we don't invent statistics.
- Honesty about when you don't need a professional. Our articles routinely say that low-stakes documents are fine without review. A site built on trust cannot be built on scaring people into services they don't need.
- Jurisdiction humility. U.S. law varies by state. When the answer depends on where you are, we say so instead of pretending one answer fits fifty states.
- Disclosure. We use AI tools in drafting our own articles — it would be strange not to, on this site of all sites — and every article is human-reviewed before publication. That workflow, AI drafts and humans verify, is the very thing this site advocates.
Who runs this
SignedByPro is an independent project, built and run without outside funding. We're not owned by a law firm, an accounting network, or an AI company, which keeps one useful property intact: we have no incentive to tell you AI output is better or worse than it is.
